Chapter 12-NG+HE : [Part1]

As I decided, we now are heading toward the Revival Festival which happens only every 60 years, since it was a unique festival where people could could come back from the dead, strangely enough it picked my interest so I decided to head over there instead.

The travel continued for 2 days, sea monster are rare in these sea which make the travel really lax.

I then saw a dream, a strange dream yet felt like it was real, two persons with scales on some part of their body were talking between themselves…

“It will be the very first festival to happen with outsider coming, it’ll definitely bring fortunes to us !”

“Yes, specially since from our informations, there’s absolutely no other place where dead people can actually come back alive, well let’s just leave the details of the corpse aside it’ll make more people come to see the miracle !”

“Well we did increase the number of ship so more outsider may come, I didn’t know there was so many rare minerals outside of our mine which is now nearly swiped clean, at least we’ll have the monopoly on the trade !”

Then both of them started to laugh haughtily.

“Well then we should also start disposing of this worthless system we’ve always worked on, with these…”

*CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP*
“HEY, wake up, we’re arriving !”

I felt annoyed because of the loud sound, and opened my eyes slightly and slowly.
Then I answered :

“Mh, what should we do now since the festival isn’t supposed to start yet ?”

“Well I wanna see if the princess really is as lovely as their rumor are, but since plebeian can only see her on the day of the festival, well let’s go to a cabared ! Thought it’s a land where the main race isn’t humans, from the rumors they’re still quite beautiful !”

Ugh, why is it that he only think about it.. should I ditch him the first moment I can ?
No no, in the first place it was him who proposed to head there, and I approved of it.. why did I approve.. WHY ?!

“Well do as you like, but I’ll to the palace first to see things mself.”
“LET ME JOIN !”
“…
No it’ll be boring for you anyway.”
“As expected you know me !”

I left him alone and then headed toward the palace alone, once I reached it, after looking again at the flag’s emblem, I decided to show the emblem I picked up at home back then. Since the emblems seemed close enough to the one this nation use, I wanted to ask a question about it.

“Errm excuse me, mister soldier, is it possible that you know about this emblem, it looked alike the one of your country which made me wonder if there was any relations.”

“Oh nice replicate you got there, this looks exactly like the emblem given in the old story of our country”

Old story.. something snaped in my mind.
The soldier then continued

“Well you don’t seem like you’re from here wanna hear about it ?”

“Mmh, I’m sorry but aren’t you in guard duty ?
Wouldn’t it be bad if you’re discovered slacking ?”

“Well that could be so, but in this country no one will do anything bad, so close to the festival, even if there is the outsiders stealing and robbing, they just get sent in jail and most of the outsider’s weapons can’t even pierce throught our weakest armor..”

Said the second soldier which looked bored

“Yup exactly, there shouldn’t be any problems, either way I don’t have any wish this time, last festival I already had my wish granted was able to see my wife again.. thought since I wasn’t that serious on work I was told that it’ll only be momentary..”

“Go find another wife already !”
“No way I’ll ever do that !”

“Well either way you don’t seem like a really bad one so I don’t think you would do anything dangerous, so wanna hear ’bout the story ?”

I fell in thought.

“Mmh wasn’t it a story about a woman from another race that suddenly appeared ?”

“Heh did you already go to a library to read about it ?”

“No I just felt like it was a story I heard from someone.
Also would it be possible to see how the festival is prepared ?
I have been curious about the resurection part and been wondering if there is anything in particular that could actually make it possible.”

“Mmh.. I’m sorry but the preparations are forbidden to be leaked.. so I can’t possibly let you pass, but either way this festival doesn’t look like it’ll be possible to see anyone..”

“What do you mean ?”

“Well there’s suspicion about some higher up.”

“Suspicion ?”

“Well, just a problem that has started to spread since the outsiders started to freely come and leave this place, also due to the 「Automatics mines」 starting to end up empty..”
“Everything items coming from our country works on magic energy or on the crystals, you know about it right ?”

“So that means that there’s less crystals ?”

“Exactly !”
“You pick it up fastly don’t you ?”

“With this information, you can know that since our crystals are emptying we need to get a nex source, and then some outsiders came and starting selling it.”
“With that some higher ups decided to stock up these crystals, either be it from the mines or from the outsiders which made the price go up..”
“Well doesn’t seem to be that bad yet but there’s a rumour about the higher ups doing something weird.. well for now it’s not like anything will happen !”

“Hey, it’s time for the shift !”

Some other soldiers came and anounced that, well it really is lax in the time of their festival..
At least let’s thank the soldier and head back to the inn.

“I’m really sorry to have taken your time and thank you for the information.”

“No no, we were able to remember this old story which everyone in the palace guards liked, don’t worry too much about it !”
“As he said”

“Well then, I’ll be heading back now.”

“‘kay don’t forget the festival takes place in the castle !”

“Yes, thank you again for the time !”

I waved back and left the place.
